[Kihoku area] Eat like a lord of the Kishu Tokugawa Clan at Chihiro, a long-established restaurant!
Eat like a lord of the Kishu Tokugawa Clan at Chihiro, a long-established restaurant!
Based on a recipe discovered at the Kishu Tokugawa Clan’s burial temple, Choho-ji, we have reproduced cuisine once served to lords of the clan. Including delicacies such as cedar planked mackerel, chefs carefully recreate the historical cuisine to the utmost standard.
The first attempt in 400 years to recreate and experience the very same cuisine that was eaten by feudal lords.
Ingredients are from Wakayama and include no artificial seasonings.
For those who find banquet dishes too filling, we also offer mini banquet dishes, beautifully arranged on 8 different small plates.
Main points
- Taste luxurious cuisine that was eaten by nobility of the Tokugawa clan.
- The restaurant is committed to using local ingredients for local consumption, with all-natural ingredients.
- Private a tea room full of Japanese atmosphere on the grounds of Wakayama Castle.
